A WHOLE NEW WORLD
"From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live."

Greetings from Texas.

After a whirlwind of emotions Space-A traveling puts you through,
anxiousness
worrisomeness
belly-turning (Does that count as an emotion?)
I have landed on Texas soil.

After analyzing every which way, every situation, every point of view (sorry B and Amanda) that could possibly happen trying to get on the military aircraft, that contains a measly 32 seats and flys out of Lajes to Baltimore a mere once a week, it was pure success!!!

You see there is this coveted list the terminal holds which has 5 sets of category placements on it. Being a dependent, with out my independent active duty member I am specially placed on the bottom of that list. All active duty members get priority, which I totally get and could see cat-fights arising if it wasn't this way, so after this huge inspection that just passed I had a hunch anybody and everyone was trying to make a clean break to civilization aka the land where things aren't always closed and I would be left still at the bottom of the list.

Let me tell you from experience, calling and bugging the terminal everyday doesn't move you up the list. Neither does expressing your thoughts about it to your husband day to day. It is always a roll of the dice and I tried to remain faithful that I would be one of the lucky chosen 32 seats. Low and behold I made it on and after some flying, some waiting, some more waiting, and some more flying I met my destination around 3:00am Azores time

If you look at the time-stamp of this post you can probably guess it takes longer than 6 hours to adjust to a different time zone and leads to writing about nothing at 5:40am (central time) this morning.

Talk with you when I return home in 2 weeks.

and a Promotion.

A couple weeks we had B's promotion ceremony that I didn't want to share pictures of until he actually was promoted.

Tuesday was the official day of becoming Senior Airmen Morris, but since it was a day-off official pictures were not able to be captured till yesterday morning.

So proud of my Airmen!! Look at those new stripes.

A Birthday...

Monday was my love's birthday. Happy Birthday B! Today we are still celebrating his un-birthday.

Nothing out of the ordinary was planned for Monday. Mason sang happy birthday, breakfast pancakes were eaten up, presents were received, and an oh so divine birthday cake was served.

It gets harder every time to pick out presents. Having the only retail resource being the internet and sharing the same bank account, plus email account makes it all the harder. We have already compromised to only sometimes actually wrapping the gifts, and cards are required only for the super special occasions. We are still waiting to figure out what those are, because apparently they are not anniversaries or birthdays.

There are usually no complaints/returns from B's side. I have only gotten it wrong once. He was half-surprised this year with the typical birthday gifts, camera gadgets and a framed print of the map of the Azores.

Now back to the cake, I did get one actual surprise in there, bringing the yummitly scrumptous Cappuccino Fudge Birthday Cheesecake to share with his office and get a "Happy Birthday" serenade in. There are no other words to describe a cake that takes 5 HOURS to make. Please indulge yourselves here.

After caking eating, in celebration of passing the big Air Force inspection last week / B's birthday, B had only half a days work and a full day off on Tuesday. To top that off really in celebration of B's birthday he gets a day off on Friday.

Can't get enough of the laid back island life.

6 More Months to go!!

Can you believe it?

This was us exactly one and a half years ago + 1 day saying good-bye to the states.

This was going on exactly a year ago +1 day when we embarked on our first European adventure to Germany.

I blogged about our 6 month mark here and about our Germany excursion here

This was us exactly 6 months ago, oh scratch that I couldn't find any pictures of us during that time. A picture of Mas in the month of March (which was 6 months ago) will just have to do.

Look at his St. Patrick's Day flare!!

Now, here we are today, or a year and half later minus 3 days ago.

I applaud you and your math skills. We will see ya in 6 months!

Sao Miguel

I always seem to be living my life on rewind with this blog. We went to Sao Miguel a full two weeks ago, and so many blog-worthy events have happened in between that I just can't keep up.

Besides the obvious excuse of procrastination, I had over 1000 pictures to scan through from our trip. A 2 day trip! A 2 day trip to an island that was remarkably similar to the island we live on, visual memory would just not have been enough. This was a compromise of 3 cameras. We captured literally every moment.

Enjoy the random pics I deemed blog-worthy.

Who Can Resist Dog Photos?

One of the lovely ladies from the island began a "Doggy Play Day" last summer, and we are faithful in our participation in as many Fridays as we can get to.

We got to keep ourselves entertained here people. Remember Itsy Bitsy Island. Itsy Bitsy Foreign Island. Itsy Bitsy Foreign Island (with a lack of jobs).

Mason usually just gets so overwhelmed with so much stimulation, he is beside himself. 6 hours later he is still passed out on the couch, only waking for stretching and rearranging on the couch.

Look it that fun!

Water Break!

Attempt #1 of Basset Hound picture. Hurley I am sorry this picture is not for you.

 Attempt #1: FAIL.

 Attempt #2: FAIL. so close.

We have an extraordinary view from our make shift park.

 Mason likes it too.

What a loner.

"All done mom, I am ready for nap #4 of the day."

"Bye friends! See ya next time."

We're off to Sao Miguel for the weekend!! I will fill y'all in our found when we return.

maybe.
