A WHOLE NEW WORLD
"From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live."

Back to the Daily Grind.

B is back! He arrived Sunday afternoon, and what a joy it is to have my playmate back. :) He had a lovely time, enjoyed sushi, Starbucks, and places upon past 6:30pm. The time difference did kick him in the butt a little. Since it was such a short trip he had no problem readjusting back to Azores time. He did take a couple pictures of Portugal and St. Louis but it has been a busy week so haven't gotten a chance to get them on the computer.

He did bring back a surprise with him for me. Our anniversary month is almost upon us. I know everyone always says it, but can you believe how time flies? 1 year almost gone! Anyhow, I am sure I have mentioned, we don't have the biggest array of shopping here, so it seemed as if it were perfect timing for B to head back for the states to do some present shopping. He came back with a Kitchen Aid Mixer!!! (in red) So excited! He had to give it to me early because obviously it is a little too big to hide. I was ecstatic! Our kitchen seems so complete now. I got to play with it the other day, and let me just tell you it is awesome! I took some pictures of it too, to post, but those also have not made it on to the computer.

Other than that news, same ol' same ol' over here in the middle of the ocean. B is hard at work, as well as I am working another VBS all week long (long story). Looking forward to next week...

6 more days till my parents arrive!!

TDY

1 day down...

Brandon is gone, and I am still here. He left yesterday for training in the states at Scott AFB in Illinois. Which in my head translates into Starbucks, and shopping! He arrived yesterday in Portugal and got to spend a full day there exploring. He leaves this morning and will arrive in his final destination this evening. It is only for 6 days and he will be back on Sunday.

I believe I have over busied myself with things to do. We have known about this for a while, and leading up to this week I continued to pray for God to provide me with comfort, strength, and opportunities of busyness (if that makes sense). He has certainly answered on the opportunities part, I have 2 "girl's nights" this weekend. Seriously, I think I can count the ones I have had on one hand since we have been here.

I have plenty else going on as well, so don't be too worried about me. I wanted to fill y'all in on this week's happening before things get too crazy around here.

Happy Wednesday!

Bragging Rights.

I don't really talk a lot of Brandon's work because, well really, I don't really know what he does. I mean, I got the jest of it down, but it is not really interesting blog worthy information. However, whatever he is doing, he is doing a G-R-E-A-T job at it!!

He has won the favor of most of his supervisors already. His sergeant in charge of his whole shop/office has nominated him for the Volunteer of the Quarter, amongst the other Airmen, and his direct supervisor nominated him for the Top Airmen of the Quarter. We don't really know when we will find out if he was chosen or not, probably within the month, we will keep you posted.

As well, today he is running for President of the Rising VI organization. The Rising VI is an Air Force council for all the enlisted Airmen, ranked Tech Sergeant and below. So if you read this before 3pm Azores time, remember to say a little prayer, for him to be elected if it be in the Lord's will for him to take on this leadership position. He has heard this is a very time consuming position with a lot of responsibility, and contemplated not running, yet the final decision was to do it, obviously.

I am so proud of my darling Airmen, and love him to pieces. He has all my support and encouragement in everything he chooses to do, and I know he has yours too! I just wanted to share his success thus far in the Air Force with everyone.

Have a Happy Weekend!

Fireworks.

So Happy 4th of July, 4 days late. We had a busy weekend, if we didn't have an extra day added in, I feel nothing would have got accomplished. Our weekend consisted of, playing at the beach, Mason walking, seeing Robin Hood*, church, grilling turkey hot dogs & french fries, working booths at the Freedom Fest, finishing B's homework, fireworks & funnel cake, car washing, an afternoon run, 6 loads of laundry, lawn mowing, a Celebrating Homes party, and lastly another VBS meeting.

Woo! Fun-filled to say the least. Lets back it up a bit to highlight some parts. There is an annual Freedom Fest on base which turned out to be better than we excepted. Like I said we helped out the 1st 2 hours in some food booths and then later that evening returned to watch the firework show. Apparently, Lajes Field has the best show in USAFE (United States Air Forces of Europe). It lived up to its name. It was a great show. Here are some highlights, if you have the time to watch. :)

*This was the 1st time since about the 3rd week we arrived, that a good movie has come out. Robin Hood and Iron Man 2 both were showing. We had to at least see one. Oh, and 2 weekends from now, Sex and the City 2 comes out!!! I already have plans lined up to see it, Brandon will be skipping out on this one.
